VanCamp first portrayed Sharon Carter in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In the film, she is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who is undercover as one of Steve's neighbors, eventually standing up to Brock Rumlow and Hydra at the film's climax. She reprised her role in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, during which, she shared her first kiss with Steve Rogers and provided him with much-needed intel. In Avengers: Endgame it was revealed that Sharon was a victim of Thanos' snap as her photo can be seen in the corner of the still where Steve looks at all Thanos' casualties.

Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly and Daniel Brühl. The series debuts on Disney+ in 2021.
