Marvel's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, coming next year to Disney+, has added the up-and-coming actor Danny Ramirez in an unknown role.

Ramirez's character has not been revealed but will be "pivotal," according to THR. As filming for the show had already been underway for some time before he was cast, it's likely that he won't appear in every episode of the season.

Ramirez is best known for the Netflix series On My Block. He is also set to appear in the films Top Gun: Maverick and This Is Not a War Story next year, and had a recurring role as Wes in Marvel's mutant series The Gifted.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, had originally been planned to premiere this summer until production was shut down due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Filming on the series has since resumed, and it is planned for release on Disney+ at some point after Marvel Studios' WandaVision.

Following the events of "Avengers: Endgame," Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities--and their patience--in Marvel Studios' "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier." The all-new series is directed by Kari Skogland; Malcolm Spellman is the head writer. Coming 2021.

Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly and Daniel Brühl. The series debuts on Disney+ in 2021.
