An Arrowverse star is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to Deadline, Carl Lumbly has joined the cast of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in an undisclosed role. Lumbly previously starred on Supergirl as the father of J’onn J’onzz, aka the Martian Manhunter.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will pick up after the events of Avengers: Endgame and will see the return of Marvel Cinematic Universe stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, respectively. Emily VanCamp will also return as Agent 13, with Daniel Brühl reprising his role as Zemo. Brühl was the central antagonist of Captain America: Civil War, while VanCamp's on-screen portrayal of Agent 13 only briefly appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.

Aside from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Disney+ also has WandaVision, Loki, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Moon Knight and What If...? in development.

Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly and Daniel Brühl. The series will be available on Disney+ in August.
