The stars of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are ensuring that their production stays safe by practicing social distancing.

Series star Sebastian Stan shared a photo on Instagram of him and co-star Anthony Mackie filming while six feet apart. "Friends. Social distancing since November ’19" Stan captioned the photo. It also provides another look at Mackie's new suit.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will pick up after the events of Avengers: Endgame and will see the return of Marvel Cinematic Universe stars Mackie and Stan as Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, respectively. Emily VanCamp will also return as Agent 13, with Daniel Brühl reprising his role as Zemo. Brühl was the central antagonist of Captain America: Civil War, while VanCamp's on-screen portrayal of Agent 13 only briefly appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.

The series shut down production in early March after the coronavirus shuttered shoots across the globe. However, it received the green light to resume operations in early May and restarted filming a few months later. Originally scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in August, the drama is now on track to debut sometime later the fall.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be Marvel's first series on Disney+. Other series on deck include WandaVision, which is scheduled to debut in December, and Loki, which will premiere in spring 2021. The streaming service also has Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk series in development. Finally, an animated What If...? series is also in the works.

Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Gene Colan, Sam Wilson/Falcon made his comics debut in Captain America #117 in 1969. He is often seen fighting alongside Bucky Barnes and Captain America (Steve Rogers) and took up the mantle of Captain America in All-New Captain America #1 in 2015.

Created by writer Joe Simon and artist Jack Kirby, Bucky Barnes first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 in 1941. In the comics, he becomes Captain America before Wilson, wielding the shield in 2008's Captain America #34.

Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly and Daniel Brühl. The series debuts on Disney+ in fall 2020.
