10 Natsu Being A Member Of Fairy Tail Was Hardly What Anyone Expected
Natsu ran into Lucy in the port city of Hargeon where he unwittingly stopped her from being charmed by a bad guy. She thanked him by treating he and his friend Happy to lunch. Lucy always dreamed of joining Fairy Tail and reading their exploits in the Sorcerer Weekly Magazine only made her more driven to join them.
She was abducted on a ship by Bora The Prominence who claimed to be a Fairy Tail wizard but Natsu swooped in to save the day only to fall victim to his motion sickness. After Lucy managed to get her celestial spirit Aquarius to drive the boat to port. Natsu emerged on the now motionless boat and asked to see Bora up close. Everyone was shocked when Natsu declared that he was a Fairy Tail wizard and had never seen Bora before.
9 Bluenote Stinger Was Really Scary Upon His Arrival
Bluenote was the sub-commander of Grimoire Heart and one truly powerful individual. He was frustrated that the Seven Kin Of Purgatory were falling one by one to the best of the Fairy Tail Guild. When he'd had enough, he went to the island to finish the enemy off.
His power was so overwhelming that he could have easily killed Natsu and his companions if it hadn't been for the timely intervention of Fairy Tail's Ace, Gildarts Clive. Even the Seven Kin were wary of his presence on the island.
8 Mystogan Was Shrouded In Mystery From The Very Beginning
Of all the members of the Fairy Tail Guild, Mystogan was by far the most mysterious, with little to nothing known about him by viewers and even guild members. Upon his intro to the series, he put everyone to sleep before he walked in to take a job from the request board.
The spell was lifted as soon as he walked out the door, leaving fans in awe. He was so mysterious that no one in the guild besides Makarov and Laxus had seen what he looked like. His character appealed to the inner otaku of every viewer and everyone wanted to know more about him especially when it was revealed that he was an S-Class wizard.
7 Underworld King Mardgeer Was Rather Calm & Collected Considering The Chaos He'd Caused
Mardgeer was the leader of Tartaros and a truly tyrannical individual. He plotted to rid the world of magic and make curses the dominant power. That said, his character design was definitely cool. He was first seen sitting on his throne ever so peacefully and talking so gently for someone so evil.
When fans finally saw him in action, it was clear why he was calling the shots. After readying himself to fight his foes more seriously, he re-introduced himself as "Mardgeer Tartaros, Absolute Demon and King of the underworld."
6 When E.N.D revealed himself, Fans Didn't Know Whether To Be Excited Or Weary
Natsu was Zeref's brother and the mightiest demon of the books of Zeref. During the war against Alvarez, Natsu and Lucy were captured by Dimeria. She tortured Lucy and threatened to kill her but Natsu snapped and when Lucy woke up, Dimeria was on the ground, properly beaten and terrified to her bones.
Natsu had awoken as END, had beaten Dimeria and was angrily looking for Zeref. It was unclear at the time if Natsu was friend or foe.
5 Irene Belserion Was Captivating From Her First Appearance
Irene was the only person thought to properly match August in power. She was known as the Scarlet Despair while August was The Calamity. She was first seen walking along an icy plane with her two underlings and after telling a story about two maidens, she tapped the ground with her staff and the entire plane of ice melted and revealed a vast grassy plain.
Fans knew that this powerful individual's arrival didn't bode well for the heroes still fighting Zeref's army.
4 Gildarts Clive Was Welcomed With Glory When He Arrived
One certain day, the bells in the city of Magnolia rang as if heralding the coming of something big. It turned out that the bells were announcing the return of Gildarts. As if that wasn't intriguing enough, viewers learned that he was returning from a hundred-year quest after only three years.
To make things more exciting, the city was modified to split in two whenever Gildarts returned. This was to prevent him from coming into contact with people's homes and businesses as he could destroy whatever he touched. There was no better way to introduce someone as powerful and lovable as Gildarts.
3 August Dragneel's Introduction Left Viewers In Serious Suspense
Up until his first battle on screen, all viewers knew about him was that he was the incredibly powerful Wizard King. After hearing about him the first time, everyone wondered what he was capable of. His entire being was deceptive as he looked like nothing more than like a frail old man.
His battles confirmed that he was indeed more powerful than any human alive as he easily dominated the strongest of fighters. It was quite evident that the only person capable of holding his own against August was Gildarts and even he was nearly defeated.
2 Acnologia's Introduction Was Nothing Short Of Breathtaking
After successfully defeating Grimoire Heart, the elite members of Fairy Tail had a brief moment of respite to tend to their wounds as the battle was gruesome. All of a sudden, there was a roaring noise that terrified everyone to their core. They looked up and saw the mighty Dragon King looming above their heads.
The dragon descended and lay waste to the members of the guild. His power and size overwhelmed them and nothing they did fazed him in the slightest. This was one insurmountable threat and fans were just as terrified as the guild members.
1 Fire Dragon King Igneel Couldn't Have Picked A Better Moment To Reveal Himself
Finding Igneel has been Natsu's main objective since he joined the guild. He searched far and wide for the dragon he knew as his father to no avail. There were few times when Igneel was shown whenever Natsu was in a tough predicament but fans got almost nothing beyond that.
During the battle against Tartaros, upon the arrival of Acnologia, Igneel emerged from within Natsu in all his Glory and took on the Acnologia. This appearance was when viewers got to see just how massive and powerful Igneel was.
