10 Wendy Marvell Finally Realized Her Potential
Earlier in the series, the sky dragon slayer Wendy Marvell was among the weakest Fairy Tail members and the weakest dragon slayer, but that soon changed. Wendy slowly but surely grew stronger as the series progressed, and the young Wendy became more confident and braver in battle, even when facing the demon books.
Wendy can use air-based magic to attack her foes from afar, and she can also use Dragon Force, just like Laxus, to greatly enhance her strength in battle. By the story's end, Wendy was ready to take on the dragon Acnologia alongside the other six dragon slayers.
9 Erza Scarlet Uses Spatial Magic & Swords
Erza Scarlet ranks among the strongest Fairy Tail wizards, having an S-rank along with the likes of Gildarts Clive and Laxus Dreyar. She is also considered a member of Team Natsu, meaning she is usually seen fighting alongside Natsu, Lucy, and Gray Fullbuster during adventures across Fiore.
In battle, Erza is known to use special magic to access her many suits of armor and swords to customize her outfit to match her opponent's capabilities. She can also summon hundreds of swords at once and throw them at the enemy to overwhelm them from afar.
8 Dimaria Yesta Controls Time Itself
Dimaria Yesta is one of the Spriggan 12, elite followers of Zeref Dragneel. She can use the Age Seal spell to freeze time itself, and while Age Seal is in effect, only Dimaria can move freely, which gives her an overwhelming advantage against most foes, even when she's outnumbered.
Dimaria can even use Take Over magic to summon a god and gain its power, and she typically summons the god Chronos in particular. She also has serious strength and durability as a melee warrior. She doesn't rely entirely on magic to fight.
7 Irene Belserion Uses Astonishing Magic
Irene Belserion is another Spriggan 12 member, and she has the distinction of being a human dragon as well as Erza Scarlet's centuries-old mother from a bygone era. Irene is quite hostile to her daughter and the Fairy Tail guild, and she went all out to defeat Erz and Wendy in battle.
One of Irene's best spells is Universe One, which allows her to rearrange an entire nation's geography and bring faraway locations much closer together. She can also use Eye Magic to monitor a large area and even use a wide variety of enchantments to enhance her own abilities.
6 Mavis Vermillion Is A Tricky Fighter
Over a century ago, the youthful but brilliant Mavis Vermillion won her freedom from the Red Lizard wizard guild, then spent years studying at an abandoned library before exploring the world at large. She teamed up with some adventurers, then founded the Fairy Tail wizard guild with their help.
Mavis is a kind and clever mage who fights to protect others and gain knowledge, not dominate others, and her magic reflects that. She can use incredible illusion magic to fool her foes and use Fairy Law and Fairy Glitter to crush anyone whom she perceives as an enemy. She is also a tactical genius, as the Grand Magic Games story arc proved.
5 Minerva Orland Is Sabertooth's Best
The Sabertooth wizard guild is Fairy Tail's worthy rival, and the wizard Minerva Orland proves it. She was one of the strongest competitors in the entire Grand Magic Games tournament in Crocus, and she could easily stand up to Erza in a serious fight, which says a lot.
Minerva is an expert martial artist who can crush most foes with her bare hands, and besides that, she also uses Territory magic. With it, she can create portals and trap people inside magical bubbles, which can give her a serious advantage in most fights.
4 Brandish Mu's Magic Is Seemingly Limitless
Even compared to the other Spriggan 12 members, Brandish Mu's magical power is simply astonishing, it seems there's nothing she cannot do with her size-altering magic. Despite her apathetic attitude, Brandish is vastly powerful and can almost any fight before it begins.
With her magic, Brandish can shrink down or expand any item, from a person to the land itself. She can casually shrink an entire island to the size of a dinner plate, and her friends and enemies alike know better than to get on her bad side, as they'll end up the size of her thumb.
3 Kugara Mikazuchi Wields A Sword & Fearsome Magic
Kagura Mikazuchi belongs to the all-female wizard guild Mermail Heel, and she is arguably that guild's #1 fighter. She fought evenly against the likes of Minerva Orland and Erza Scarlet during a three-way battle in the Grand Magic Games, a serious testament to her prowess.
Kagura is not only an expert with the sword, but she can also use gravity magic to weigh her enemies down and render them helpless, which gives her a serious advantage in any fight. She is even a formidable fighter when unarmed, and she once delivered a serious kick to Minerva's gut in their fight.
2 Ultear Milkovich Can Control Time
Dimaria isn't the only wizard who can control the flow of time. The villain-turned-hero Ultear Milkovich can use Arc of Time magic to alter the flow of time for non-sentient items, whether they're organic or not. She can also use this magic with orbs and summon more of them from parallel timelines.
Ultear battled Gray during the Tenrou Island story arc while she was fighting for the Grimoire Heart dark guild. As Ur's daughter, she can use Ice-Make magic, the same magic that Gray and Lyon Vastia use, and she can even transform into other people and use telepathy to communicate with allies. Her magic is remarkably diverse.
1 Mirajane Strauss Becomes A Demon In Battle
Despite being of the series' strongest female wizards, Mirajane Strauss doesn't enjoy combat, and she is much happier volunteering as a barmaid and waitress in the Fairy Tail guildhall. Then again, she does take satisfaction in defending her allies and rushing villains who threaten them. She's not bloodthirsty, but she's also not a pacifist.
Mirajane primarily uses Take Over magic to assume the form of a slender, humanoid demon, and her demonic powers are truly vast. She even gains a tail and wings for combat, and she can perform devastating ranged attacks. Mirajane also becomes immune to poison in this form.
