Fairy Tail is the beloved fantasy Shonen that has helped anime fans laugh, cry, and jump up and cheer all at the drop of an, "Aye, sir." It's a series that has been with the community for years, yet it's still disappointing that its real main character doesn't often get the attention they deserve.

Nope. That person isn't Natsu Dragneel, those his presence and use of Shonen protagonist tropes certainly puts him in place to be one. The series' true protagonist is the guild's faithful Celestial Mage and writer, Lucy Heartfilia. Though she is the defining voice and perspective of the series, she is often sidelined for most of the series' most pivotal points.

However, the series' fanbase certainly hasn't forgotten her, as it has adorned every odd corner of the virtual world with little mementos of her. This list will be looking at some of the best ones, as it runs down 10 hilarious Lucy memes.

10 Hey, I'm Lucy!

It's very, very easy to forget that Lucy Heartfilia is, in fact, the main character and protagonist of Fairy Tail. Though she narrates the show, she is often sidelined during the major scenes like an everyday Misty or Sakura.

If that weren't enough, in addition to not sharing the same high stakes, action-packed fights as Natsu, she is also consistently used for fan service, as if she was less of a leading lady and more of a background character with the IMDb listing "Female Character #1."

9 Natsu Does Not Use the Door

Lucy has the added benefit of being one of the few members of the Fairy Tail guild, let alone any Shonen protagonists, to be able to rent out and take care of their own apartment.

That key detail is very much appreciated by her magical friends, as they take every opportunity to break in and relax. Natsu, in particular, won't always use the door...if at all. Like the airheaded male anime lead that he is, he's going to take the most eccentric route possible to enter her room.

8 You Have a Nice Place Here, Lucy!

Gray Fullbuster, the ice mage of the guild and rival to Natsu, is...not much better when it comes to Lucy's apartment etiquette. His major gimmick is the fact that, after a childhood of strenuous training with his ice mage master, Ur, the boy can't last long without taking off his shirt and pants.

This gets kicked up to 11 in Lucy's apartment, where Gray can feel so comfortable that he can feel inclined to go all out with the nudity. In all honesty, though, this is really a compliment to how homey and inviting Lucy's apartment is. Maybe a little too inviting.

7 You've Heard of Carry On My Wayward Son

One can't have a Shonen anime, let alone any type of anime, without dead or terrible parents. Lucy has the fortunate life of having both, with her business, class minded father being the alive one.

When it was revealed that Lucy was the daughter of the owner of Heartfilia Konzern, all-out war broke out as Fairy Tail tried to keep her from being captured by her possessive yet emotionally distant daughter. All Lucy wanted to do was explore the magical world outside her mansion walls, but we all can't have nice things when rich parents have too many nice things.

6 When You're the Only Sober One

The relationship between Lucy and Natsu is a sacred one. Not because of any romantic intent or sense of camaraderie with their guild; but because when Natsu rides a few too many vehicles, he'll need someone to carry him when he gets too motion sick.

As a Dragon Slayer, Natsu finds difficulty with balancing himself on normal vehicles. That's why meeting Lucy was a saving grace for him, as she's consistently been the one to carry him out the door.

5 I'm on Top of the...

The ship between Natsu and Lucy is as beloved, quirky, and somewhat rocky as the actual Titantic ship was. In terms of expressing their actual budding romance, it could be hard to ship them too, given the off chance that in a Titanic-like romantic situation, Natsu may very well throw up all over his queen.

To be fair though, Lucy may be expecting it and would still care for her dragon best friend but not before getting a few wet wipes.

4 Hi, Loke!

Though Natsu can be stoic in some parts and obliviously eccentric in the other, if there was ever someone to make him jealous over Lucy, it would be the Fairy Tail's guild's resident playboy and leading Celestial Spirit, Loke, aka Leo.

There may very well be a scenario where the cute, master of pickup lines may bust out his best hits in order to swoon his master, leaving Natsu to actually compete for Lucy's affection.

3 Lucy, I'll Ask You Something.

If there was ever something to define Lucy more than magic or her fights and adventures in the good, it would be the incredibly vocal shipping community trying to make her synonymous with her pink-haired counterpart.

Going the other way from the previous entry, one way to look at the two's relationship would be of the reluctant, tsundere-like Lucy often facing her love interest with near contempt. The two's relationship is one often met with tons of physical slapstick. It is only the last two panels away from being utterly adorable.

2 With Her Hands Tied Behind Her Back

In a world dominated by magic and wizards, it is the 10 Wizard Saints who stand tall above the ambitious magic seekers. The saints are the highest tier wizards among the Kingdom of Fiore, whose wisdom and services benefit the greater good of the country and their guilds.

Lucy took down one of them with a kick to the groin and with her hands tied behind her back. This just goes to show that no matter how much one trains their magical acumen, there is always a more superior technique.

1 Lucy Kick!

That technique and possibly the most powerful move in all of Lucy's arsenal, counting her magical whip and her army of Celestial Spirits, would be her almighty "Lucy Kick."

Such a technique far surpasses the likes of Naruto's Sage Mode or Goku's kaioken, as it allows a near mortal like Lucy to take down rogue wizards, Wizard Saints, and even a great Dragon Slayer like Natsu. It is truly a destructive move that fans everywhere only hope never makes it into the real world.
