Fairy Tail is a shonen fantasy series that's all about magic and wizards, even if many of the characters don't look like a typical robes-and-staff wizard. In this shonen universe, magic comes in many diverse forms, from Erza Scarlet and her spatial magic to Minerva Orland's portal spells and Evergreen's gorgon-like magic eyes.

Some of these wizards are akin like Dragon Ball-style heroes with enchanted fists or elemental attacks, while other Fairy Tail magic users are more like traditional wizards who use wands and spellbooks, just like those in the famed Harry Potter universe. Plenty of Fairy Tail wizards, heroes and villains alike, would do well if they transferred to the Hogwarts "guild" and started studying magic there.

10 Levy McGarden Would Love Ravenclaw

Fairy Tail's Levy McGarden Writing

The book-loving Levy McGarden would make an outstanding Ravenclaw student in particular, and she would discuss magical theory with professor Filius Flitwick after every Charms class for sure. Levy isn't much of a melee fighter – instead, she is all about solid script magic, which creates supernatural effects based on writing in the air itself.

Levy would ace her O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.S. at Hogwarts, then find work as an Auror or magical research somewhere in the UK, and she'd have a great time with such work. It's so rewarding to dive into a whole new world of arcane studies.

9 Lucy Heartfilia Favors Traditional Magic

The heroine Lucy Heartfilia can sometimes perform physical attacks when she dons her Star Dresses, and she's not afraid to kick her foes with Taurus' particular Star Dress. For the most, though, Lucy is the "stand back and cast a spell" type of wizard, similar to Harry Potter wizards and witches.

Lucy would get sorted either into Hufflepuff or Gryffndor, then show everyone how it's done with her advanced Celestial magic, summoning astrological beasts out of nowhere. It's like a more radical version of the Transfiguration subject, which involves conjuring things from thin air.

8 Juvia Lockser Is Also Gifted At Transfiguration

Juvia Lockser in Fairy Tail.

The water wizard Juvia Lockser is a megadere, being absolutely fixated on her ice-slinging guildmate Gray Fullbuster. Before that, Juvia belonged to the Phantom Lord guild as part of an elemental team, being the water-based member of that team. Conjuring water also happens to be Harry Potter-style Transfiguration.

Juvia's book smarts are a bit weak, but with proper motivation, she could get sorted into Gryffindor and improve her grades under professor McGonagall's tutelage, especially if it's all to impress Gray. At least Juvia has a huge head start with Transfiguring water in all shapes and forms.

7 Yukino Agria Could Be Lucy's Roommate In Gryffindor Tower

Yukino keys

Yukino Agria is one of several Celestial wizards in Fairy Tail, just like Lucy. Yukino appeared in the Grand Magic Games tournament arc as a member of Sabertooth, but she wasn't hostile to Lucy's team for long. Soon, she became a friend of Fairy Tail's, and she would join Lucy at Hogwarts, too.

Yukino is the "stand back and cast a spell" type of wizard that Hogwarts is looking for, and Yukino's brave, crafty mind is just right for either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. She would do well with Transfiguration and Charms, and perhaps some Defense Against the Dark Arts, too.

6 Ichiya Vandalay Kotobuki Should Take A Potions Class

ichiya vandalay

Ichiya Vandalay Kotoboki may be annoying as an obnoxious womanizer, but at least he can walk the walk with his unique brand of magic and his solid leadership skills in the Blue Pegasus guild. Ichiya is all about perfume-based magic, he's like a potioneer. Hogwarts always has use for them.

Ichiya and professor Severus Snape wouldn't get along very well, but no doubt Ichiya would intrigue Snape with his magical perfumes, something Snape has never seen before. That's probably the only reason Snape won't kick Ichiya right out of Potions class.

5 Mavis Vermillion Is All About Charms

Mavis Vermillion, the First-Guildmaster of Fairy Tail.

The clever Mavis Vermillion founded the Fairy Tail guild a century ago, and if it weren't for her curse, she could become an outstanding student at Hogwarts as a first-year. Mavis has incredible book smarts and a clever mind, which is what allowed her to defeat the entire Blue Skull guild despite being outgunned the entire time.

Mavis would get sorted either into Ravenclaw or Gryffindor, then get to work with advanced Charms lessons, including her illusion-based spells and even Fairy Law. She would also do well in Defense Against the Dark Arts and perhaps Transfiguration too.

4 Evergreen Is The Magical Fairy Queen

Evergreen flying

Evergreen is a member of the Thunder God Tribe, a small team in the Fairy Tail guild centered around Laxus Dreyar. While Laxus is a melee fighter, his three followers are more like Harry Potter-style wizards, using ranged magical attacks and tricky tactics to fight, and Evergreen is no exception.

Evergreen can be rather vain and aggressive at times, but her devotion to her friends and guild is legitimate, and she also has formidable eye-based magic and ranged arcane attacks. She would do just fine as a Charms specialist in Hogwarts and get sorted into either Slytherin or Gryffindor to prove herself.

3 Sherria Blendy Can Use Air Magic

sherria blendy 2

The sky god slayer wizard Sherria Blendy belongs to the Lamia Scale guild, the same guild as the ice-slinging wizard Lyon Vastia, Gray's rival. Sherria is also Sherry's younger cousin and a tenacious fighter, no matter her innocent appearance. She can even take on Wendy Marvell and win.

Sherry isn't afraid of melee combat, but she works best from a distance with her wind-based spells and clever tactics. She would do well as a humble but hardworking Hufflepuff wizard at Hogwarts, and specialize in air-based Charm and Transfiguration spells.

2 Freed Justine Should Study Charms Or Transfiguration

Freed with spell

Freed Justine is another member of the Thunder god Tribe, and his magic is remarkably similar to Levy's own. Both wizards use script-based magic, allowing them to perform a wide variety of arcane effects based on what exactly they write.

This means Freed has the clever mind and resourceful thinking of a true Ravenclaw, and professor Flitwick would be delighted to see Freed's magic at work and dissect exactly how it works. Freed and Levy are set to redefine the world of Charms and/or Transfiguration at Hogwarts.

1 Cana Alberona Has Flexible & Creative Magic

Cana with cards

Cana Alberona is another Fairy Tail wizard who is the spellbook type rather than the melee type, she would also do well at the Hogwarts school. Most likely, Cana's bold, outgoing personality would get her sorted into Gryffindor House, and she would have all kinds of fun in class from that point on.

Cana is a bit of a troublemaker, as opposed to rules-abiding students like Hermione Granger, but her magic is for real. Her many card-based effects make her roughly similar to Freed and Levy, and like them, she would excel in Charms and perhaps Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts, too.
