The Fairy Tail cast has a lot of different kinds of characters, many of whom are a part of the Fairy Tail guild itself. This group of friends and coworkers work together and use their magic to make money and protect each other from harm.
All of the characters have distinct personalities and reasons for being in the guild. Their relationships with each other can sometimes be complicated, but many of them are fiercely loyal to each other. And many of them seem to relate to specific zodiac signs, making it easy for people to see who they best identify with.
12 Aries: Natsu Dragneel
Natsu is a typical Aries and a typical anime protagonist. He’s brash and confident.
He rarely thinks about the consequences of his actions before he does things. He’s got a carefree spirit and tends to rush into things, just like any Aries would.
11 Taurus: Juvia Lockser
Juvia Lockser is absolutely obsessed with Gray Fullbuster. She’s very possessive of him and considers him hers, which is very typical of a Taurus.
She is very protective of him and will defend him against anybody who threatens him, wanting to take care of him and to remain close to him.
10 Gemini: Freed Justine
Freed Justine is very, very loyal to Laxus Dreyar, to the point that he leaves the Fairy Tail guild in order to remain with him. This sense of loyalty and duty to do things that must be done without regard for emotions is a classic Gemini trait.
Gemini are also very good at making decisions without getting emotional about them.
9 Cancer: Jellal Fernandes
Jellal Fernandes goes through a lot of different iterations of his personality because of his traumatic past, in which he treated people horribly.
But after recovering from being manipulated into doing horrible things, he’s very mature and relaxed, traits that can be seen in many Cancers. He tries to make up for his past decisions by being a supportive and helpful friend.
8 Leo: Lucy Heartfilia
Lucy Heartfilia shares a major trait with a lot of Leos in that she’s incredibly vain. She knows that she’s very attractive, and she takes pride in her body and appearance.
She’s also very confident in general, and she knows that her skills as a sorceress are up to snuff.
7 Virgo: Cana Alberona
Cana Alberona is something of a drunk, and she spends most of her free time and money on alcohol. But she is also a very effective member of the Fairy Tail guild, and she’s a natural leader in difficult situations.
This is a classic Virgo trait; her ability to take control of a dire situation and turn it around puts her right in line with this sign.
6 Libra: Gildarts Clive
Gildarts Clive is very easygoing and laid-back. He has the utmost faith in the Fairy Tail guild’s abilities to get things done, and he knows that the next generation of Mages will have the guild in good hands.
His optimism and cheerfulness are traits similarly found in many Libras, who have a very balanced, positive approach to life.
5 Scorpio: Zeref Dragneel
Zeref Dragneel is a tricky personality because he has spent most of his living time doing horrible things.
In the modern era, he is a much different person, and he feels very bad about his past and the many Demons that he has unleashed upon the world. But he still has some of his former attitude, which links him to Scorpios: he’s incredibly vindictive. He believes that bad people have what’s coming to them, and he shows no mercy when facing off with them.
4 Sagittarius: Happy
Happy is an Exceed and one of the few non-human members of the Fairy Tail guild. He has a lot of knowledge about the Magic world, which often helps his teammates during battles and other missions.
Like a lot of Sagittarians, Happy is very quick-witted, and he’s prone to teasing those around him. He especially takes this out on Lucy.
3 Capricorn: Elfman Strauss
Elfman Strauss is obsessed with the idea of being a manly man. He feels that his manhood is on the line in every situation, and he is constantly trying to protect those around him, particularly women, in order to prove himself.
This level of pride is present in many Capricorns and is often a defining trait of the sign. It can sometimes be a weakness, as he can become overly concerned with maintaining his position as a man.
2 Aquarius: Lisanna Strauss
Lisanna Strauss is a slightly stubborn person who seems to be pretty knowledgeable on a lot of topics. She has a strong personality, but like a lot of Aquarians, she has a flexibility about her that makes it so she fits in easily with all sorts of different kinds of people.
She’s able to get along with just about anyone, which makes her a great addition to the guild.
1 Pisces: Brandish
Unlike most Pisces, Brandish is pretty logical, and she tries to make decisions to avoid conflicts wherever she can, using this lack of emotion to make the right decisions.
But like most Pisces, she’s actually also really emotional a lot of the time, particularly when it comes to negative emotions. She can be moody and whiny, and she will let everyone know when she’s displeased, a classic Pisces.
