A standout character in comic lore, Trigon is one of the biggest of big bads in all of DC. With the comics company expanding into new areas in film and television, it might be good for fans to brush up on his history. Without any further ado, here are the top 10 facts about Trigon that every fan should know.

10 10. Origins

Several hundreds of years ago, a sect of human pacifists abandoned the world to start a new one in the dimension of Azarath. Hoping to fully become a group of peace, they used special magic to remove all of the evil from within themselves and cast those dark feelings outside of Azarath and into the nether-realms.

This evil drifted away for years. Over time, it slowly took a physical form. This embodiment of evil found its way to an alien world. After many more years, it impregnated a woman from the order, who gave birth to Trigon.

9 9. Infant Trigon

Although only an infant, shortly after he was born Trigon murdered the entire cult that had created him. Already his powers were at incredible levels. A few years later, at the age of six, he had both conquered the entire planet and then destroyed it.

Trigon's lust for power knew no bounds. He simply craved more power and destruction. Goaded on by his evil nature, he eventually left his home world behind. His sights were now set on much grander, more evil goals.

By the time Trigon reached the age of 30, he was ruling over millions of worlds. His vast armies and incredible powers simply had no match whatsoever.

7 7. Azarath

An inter-dimensional realm that is stuck between different planes of reality, Azarath is the home dimension of Trigon. Many years ago, a woman called Azar arrived on Earth to bring humans back to this dimension. She helped them establish the Temple of Azarath, which eventually led to the creation of Trigon.

Although it appeared that Trigon had murdered all of the members of the cult, it was later revealed that some survived, allowing their group to live on to pursue their dreams of a peaceful paradise.

6 6. Incredibly Powerful

A demon created from pure evil, Trigon is one of the most powerful creatures in all of the DC mythos. His long list of abilities includes immortality, telekinesis, matter transmutation and manipulation, super strength, invulnerability, reality warping, and size shifting.

He can reshape entire planets with the snap of his fingers. He's drained the souls of millions of worlds and can create wormholes to other dimensions and legions of demon hordes with a single thought. On multiple occasions, he has defeated the Teen Titans and the Justice League. Trigon is not one to be trifled with.

5 5. Staff Of Trigon

At times, Trigon has been known to wield a weapon. This weapon is his power staff. Assumably imbued with his evil powers, this staff is a deadly tool that Trigon uses to help harness his energy.

Over time, the staff has been shown to have various power levels.  No author has ever seemed to exactly describe what the staff can do. Despite this, it seems to still be a useful weapon used to great effect. In one instance, Trigon used the staff to make Kid Flash spin uncontrollably until he drilled himself underground.

4 4. Teen Titans

Trigon Teen Titans

For most of his comics history, Trigon has often found himself in conflict with the Teen Titans. When Raven, his daughter, sought the Justice League's help in fighting him, they refused. Left with no other options, Raven sought out the Teen Titans and used her powers to convince them to help.

Since that time, Trigon and the Titans have fought several times. Despite their massive inferiority in terms of power, they have managed to thwart the demon many times.

3 3. Appeared In Titans Season One

The new hit TV series on DC's streaming service, Titans, features Trigon as the main villain of the first season. Portrayed by Seamus Dever, this iteration of the character is behind "The Organization," a strange cult-like group hunting down the teenage Raven.

2 2. Sons Of Trigon

Three of Trigon's sons

The sons of Trigon all hold the power of a Deadly Sin. It is later revealed that his daughter Raven also holds one of these powers: pride. His other children Jared, Jesse, and Jacob have the powers of wrath, envy, and lust.

When Trigon is at his weakest, he sends his sons to do as much damage as they can and open up a portal from Earth to his realm. His sons succeed but, once they open the portal, they betray their father, choosing to steal the little power that remains within him. Instead of anger, this gives Trigon pride in his evil children.

1 1. Father Of Raven

Raven

The Church of Blood was a cult hell-bent on trying to kill Trigon. Arella, a depressed woman, soon joined their ranks and married a handsome man. Unbeknownst to the other members, this man was Trigon in disguise. He impregnated Arella and she gave birth to Trigon's daughter, Raven.

Raven is one of the standout members of the Teen Titans. She has shown to possess vast powers that she gained from her father, and she uses it to fight him. She is his greatest creation and greatest enemy.
