While discussing the latest film he co-stars in, Love and Monsters, Michael Rooker explained why he feels F9's release date delay is actually a blessing in disguise for the next installment in the Fast & Furious franchise.

"Fast 9's going to be a beautiful piece and I'm glad we're all waiting," Rooker affirmed in an interview with CBR. "I'm glad everything was pushed back so [it can] come out on the big screen."

Rooker went on to add that he is just as satisfied with Love and Monsters getting the attention it deserves with its current availability in both movie theaters across the world and from the comfort of home with video on demand. "You'll be able to go, put it on pause, run and get your supper, come back in front of your screen and watch it again. So it's going to be a blast."

Rooker was officially confirmed to be a part of the F9 cast last year, but details on his character have been sparse. So far, the only detail that has been revealed is that he plays a man named Buddy.

Directed by Justin Lin, F9 stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel and Sung Kang, with Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron and Cardi B. The film arrives in theaters May 28, 2021.
