WARNING: The following contains spoilers for F9, now in theaters.

The latest installment in the Fast and Furious series, F9, continues the franchise's trend of including appearances from notable musicians. While some of these artists appear as main cast members, others are given supporting roles or cameos. No matter their importance in the film's plot, each artist who appears is a heavy-hitter in the music industry. Here is a rundown of every musician who appears in F9.

Ludacris

Ludacris returns to the Fast and Furious world for the fifth time as Tej Parker, reprising the role that he originated back in 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious. At this point, Ludacris is a mainstay of the Fast films, and his quippy technician has become a fan-favorite. F9 features Tej’s most outrageous antics to date. With help from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift's crew, he and Roman (Tyrese Gibson) travel to space to deactivate the Aries satellite. Outside of the Fast series, Ludacris is a successful rapper with eight studio albums under his belt. He is expected to return for the series’ final two installments.

Bow Wow

Bow Wow reprises his role as Twinkie from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Since the film's events, Twinkie has quit street racing and works with Sean Boswell and Earl Hu to build cars for the government instead. Twinkie, Sean and Earl are instrumental in saving the day. It is their rocket-powered Pontiac Fiero that Tej and Roman take into space to deactivate Jakob’s satellite. They later join the Toretto family for a barbecue in Los Angeles.

Bow Wow announced his retirement from rapping in 2016. His final album is due for release in late 2021. F9 is his first film role since 2013 (not counting archive footage of him that was used in 2015’s Furious 7), although he has sporadically made appearances on television throughout the years.

Cardi B

Rapper Cardi B has a short but crucial appearance in F9 as Leysa, an old ally of Dom’s. She is first briefly seen at Otto’s party in England. After Dom is set up by Jakob to be arrested, Leysa comes to his rescue. She and her crew dress up as Interpol agents and pretend to arrest him, but quickly reveal their identities and set him free. Leysa then provides Dom with Jakob’s gun, telling him they can track Jakob using his biometric prints on the weapon.

Cardi B is regarded as one of the most influential female rappers of all time, with several awards and various chart-topping singles to her name. Vin Diesel has already confirmed her return in the Fast franchise’s upcoming tenth installment.

Ozuna

Puerto Rican singer Ozuna portrays a younger version of the recurring Fast character Rico Santos, appearing in a flashback to 1989. After a young Dominic Toretto is incarcerated for nearly beating Kenny Linder to death with a wrench, he meets Santos and fellow recurring character Tego Leo in the prison garage. The duo’s appearances are brief, but they give Dom information that causes him to realize Jakob sabotaged their father’s car, leading to his death.

Ozuna is one of the best-selling Latin musicians of all time. He is also a fan of the Fast and Furious franchise, describing his appearance in F9 as “a dream come true”.

Bad Bunny

Reggaeton star Bad Bunny makes a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in a 1989 flashback. He appears as a lookout right before the climactic street race that will determine whether Jakob or Dom will be forced to leave town forever. Jakob ultimately loses the race, setting in motion the events that will lead to the Toretto brothers becoming archenemies in the present day.

Bad Bunny is no stranger to the Fast and Furious world, having previously dropped a reference to Dominic Toretto in his 2018 song “Quién Tú Eres?” The Puerto Rican rapper also contributes an as of yet unreleased song to F9’s soundtrack, which plays toward the end of the film and during its credits.

Don Omar

Following Ozuna’s portrayal of a younger Rico Santos in a flashback, Don Omar reprises his role as the present-day version of the character at F9's conclusion. He is seen operating the grill at the Toretto family’s barbecue and explaining that Leo couldn't make it due to being busy with his restaurant in New York.

Don Omar is a renowned reggaeton singer and Fast franchise veteran. He appeared as Rico in Fast & Furious, Fast Five and The Fate of the Furious. He also contributed music to several of the films’ soundtracks.

Directed by Justin Lin, F9 stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell and Charlize Theron. The film is in theaters now.
