The Italian Job's F. Gary Gray will direct Sam Worthington in The Last Days of American Crime, Deadline reports.
Based on the Radical Publishing miniseries by Rick Remender and Greg Tocchini, the movie is set in a near-future where, in a final response to terrorism and crime, the U.S. government secretly plans to broadcast a signal that would make it impossible for anyone to knowingly commit an unlawful act. Worthington will star as Graham Bricke, a career criminal who leads a team determined to pull off the last crime in American history.
Last Days, which begins shooting in September, is expected to be Worthington's follow-up to the Clash of the Titans sequel. His Full Clip Productions is producing with Automatik Entertainment and Radical Studios. Karl Gajdusek (Dead Like Me) is writing the screenplay.
