The Flash star Ezra Miller recently met with executives at Warner Bros. Discovery and apologized for the negative attention they have brought to the long-awaited DCEU project. Reports suggest this was to save the superhero film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miller was not concerned about the negative headlines concerning their recent actions. Rather, they were compelled to take action after it was reported Warner Bros. film chairs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy were thinking about cancelling the film. THR's source stated, "They care about The Flash. It’s one of their favorite characters to play."

During Miller's meeting with Luca and Abdy, the Justice League actor reportedly apologized for the "negative attention" their actions brought to the film and the company and agreed to face the controversies and seek help. The actor recently announced their intention to seek treatment publicly, stating, "Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment... I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life."

Ezra Miller's Controversies

Over the last year, Miller has been embroiled in controversies and legal issues involving assault, burglary and harassment. Most recently, Miller was charged with felony burglary after video recordings showed them burglarizing a residence while the homeowners were away, taking multiple bottles of alcohol. Miller is expected to appear for arraignment in Vermont Superior Court on Sept. 26.

The controversies first made headlines in March, when Miller was arrested in Hawai'i for disorderly conduct after harassing the patrons of a karaoke bar. A month later a couple filed a restraining order against Miller after they made death threats against the pair and allegedly took some of their belongings, including a wallet and passport. This was followed by a number of similar incidents.

However, it was not the first time the actor's actions made headlines. Back in 2020, a video surfaced showing The Flash star choking a female bar patron in Iceland. It wasn't until recent months that the incident was explained. According to the victim, the incident began as a joke and quickly escalated into a fight.

The Flash is scheduled to race into theaters on June 23, 2023.
