Chris Hemsworth gave a big shout out to his fans and casual Netflix watchers for making the action-thriller Extraction the streaming service's most-watched original movie.

Hemsworth posted a photo of the Deadline article revealing this news on Instagram, writing, "Can’t thank everyone enough for the continued support of Extraction! Still going strong and sitting at number 1 biggest film ever for Netflix. You guys are the greatest." The Thor actor also tagged Extraction director Sam Hargrave and producers Joe and Anthony Russo beneath his post, as well as members of the film’s cast.

Deadline revealed the top 10 original Netflix movies in terms of viewership, which has now been defined as "any subscriber who watches any programming for at least two minutes." Extraction currently sits at the top spot with 99 million viewers, followed by 2018’s Sandra Bullock-led Bird Box at 89 million. The other films rank as followed: Spenser Confidential (85 million), 6 Underground (83 million), Murder Mystery (73 million), The Irishman (64 million), Triple Frontier (63 million), The Wrong Missy (59 million), The Platform (56 million) and The Perfect Date (48 million).

An adaptation of the graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks, Extraction stars Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a mercenary tasked with rescuing the son of an Indian druglord from his rival in Bangladesh. However, when his team is double-crossed and the rival crime lord puts Bangladesh on lockdown, Rake must navigate Ovi (Rudhraksh Jaiswal) through the city borders to get him to their new extraction point. A sequel to Extraction has been confirmed, though screenwriter Joe Russo noted that "We’re not committing yet to whether that story goes forward, or backward in time," making it unclear whether it will be a direct sequel or a prequel.

Directed by Sam Hargrave and written by Joe Russo, Extraction stars Chris Hemsworth, Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda, Pankaj Tripathi, Derek Luke, Marc Donato and David Harbour. The film is currently available on Netflix.
