"The Flash" looks to return from its one-week hiatus with a bang when the series kicks off a two-part event centering on one of the Scarlet Speedster's most dangerous and unique rogues: Gorilla Grodd.

As one of Barry Allen's classic rogues, Gorilla Grodd (voiced by David Sobolov) proved a constant source of frustration in the comics, and his appearances in Season 1 and 2 of "The Flash" established him as a major threat in this reality as well.  However, since being jettisoned on Earth-2 Grodd has been conspicuously quiet.  That's all about to change, though; next week will see Jesse Quick (Violet Beane) return to Earth-1 to enlist Flash (Grant Gustin) and the S.T.A.R. Labs team in an effort to save her father - the Earth-2 Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) - who has been abducted by Grodd and taken to Gorilla City.

As comic fans know, Gorilla City is controlled by a group of highly-intelligent, telepathic gorillas just like Grodd.  It was revealed earlier this year that actor Keith David will be providing the voice of Solovar, the leader of Gorilla City and a long-time nemesis for Grodd.  How "The Flash" will present Gorilla City and the dynamic between Grodd and Solovar remains to be seen, but we'd expect things to get really interesting, really fast.

“Attack on Gorilla City” airs on The CW Tuesday, February 21. “The Flash” stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells and Jesse L. Martin as Joe West.
