Even the most simple demonstration can get complicated when Tony Stark is involved, so it should come as no surprise that Hong Kong Disney's “Iron Man Experience” ride gets a little bumpy once Shellhead shows up. A new video for the Iron Man theme park attraction walks viewers through the entire ride, from the waiting line to the entire in-ride experience.
Featuring voice work from a Robert Downey Jr. soundalike, the ride’s pre-show video takes visitors to the next Stark Expo, which follows the 2010 New York Edition that we saw in “Iron Man 2” and showcases Stark Industries’ latest and greatest products. Passengers then board the Iron Wing, a passenger version of Tony Stark’s armor that seats 45, for a tour of Hong Kong that ends at Stark Tower.

The ride is more than a fly-through. On the way to its destination, the Iron Wing is attacked by Hydra operatives and must battle these villains with the help of the armored Avenger. Hydra's target is the giant arc reactor on top of Hong Kong's Stark Tower, which both Iron Man and the rider must struggle to defend.

The ride involves a few supporting "Iron Man" characters, including a Chinese-speaking version of Jarvis and Stark's robot assistant Dum-E. Jarvis sticks with the rider throughout the duration of the ride, as the AI pilots the riders' shuttle, and has a back-and-forth exchange with Iron Man throughout the experience. Like his Marvel Cinematic Universe counterpart, Dum-E appears in the beginning and end of the video to provide some comedic relief.
According to Theme Park Review's description of the video, the ride is entirely in 3D; subsequently, the footage above was filmed by placing the complimentary 3D glasses over the camera. The people behind Theme Park Review, who visit parks all over the world to provide ride POV videos, were invited onto “Marvel's Iron Man Experience” as some of the very first public riders.
Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man will next appear in “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” which stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, Donald Glover and swings into theaters on July 7, 2017. "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is directed by Jon Watts and written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein.
