As always, the X-Men, and mutants in general, are having a bad time. There's a mutant vaccine making the rounds, the X-Men proper have been whisked away to an alternate reality and, to make matters worse, two of the most powerful mutants really mucked things up for those who were left behind. So, it's been a hard couple of weeks for anyone with laser eyes or a superior healing factor.

But you can never discount the X-Men. Even when most of their ranks have been disappeared, there's always someone out there who's willing to do what's right. This time around, that person is the freshly resurrected Scott Summers, Cyclops, and the few mutants he has been able to gather to his cause. Only, that cause might be a little more than they bargained for.

In an exclusive preview for Uncanny X-Men #13, Cyclops draws up his plan, listing every "problem" the auxiliary band of X-Men need to face down before they can morally call it quits. The list is largely a who's who of villains (like Omega Red, Mister Sinister and Cassandra Nova), mixed in with a couple of wild cards, like the Morlocks. While Logan sounds all too ready to start slashing faces, Scott has another idea in mind.

Luckily, it sounds like that plan comes with some vintage X-Men duds.

Uncanny X-Men #13, on sale Mar. 6, is written by Matthew Rosenberg. The issue's art is provided by Salvador Larroca, who also illustrated the cover.
