Following the news earlier today that BOOM! Studios has acquired the license to "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" comic books, CBR has the exclusive first look at artist's Goñi Montes' Pink Ranger-centric cover, part of the six one-page comics that will be distributed next week at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

The comics will be sold at BOOM! Studios' booth (#2229) in blind box-style packaging, with a cover by Montes and a one-page story from writer Mairghread Scott and artist Daniel Bayliss. The stories are said to stand alone, and also read as one larger tale.

"We have big, big plans that will build on the core universe of 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,'" BOOM! Studios editor-in-chief Matt Gagnon said in a statement. "We can't give too much away just yet, but the story we're kicking off with is vast in scope."

In the original series, the Pink Ranger, Kimberly Hart, was played by Amy Jo Johnson -- who went on to roles in "Felicity" and "Flashpoint" and last fall played guitar in the Pink Ranger costume on the streets of Toronto. The Red Ranger cover was revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, with the Green Ranger on Entertainment Weekly, leaving three teenagers with attitude to be revealed.

BOOM! Studios has not announced its post-Comic-Con plans for "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers." One of the most popular kids' franchises of its time, the original show ran from 1993 to 1995, spawning a film and numerous sequel series.
