Marvel announced an "Original Sin Annual" late last month at Comic-Con International in San Diego, a coda to the currently unfolding event series scheduled for release in October from the creative team of writer Jason Latour and artist Enis Cisic. The publisher did not release the book's cover at the show, but CBR has an exclusive first look at the image, illustrated by Julian Totino Tedesco.

The one-shot will detail the history of Woodrow McCord, a new character revealed in "Original Sin" to be Nick Fury's predecessor in the role of "Man on the Wall," protecting Earth from a variety of bizarre otherworldly threats.

"I liked that McCord was very much a blank slate. All we know about the man is his job and how he died," Latour told CBR News. "And though those two things speak volumes, there was still clearly a great opportunity to get in there and flesh him out and in some ways see how his history might serve as a warning for the men and women who follow in his shoes; to take a look at how the ripples created by the things he's done still impact the Marvel U to this day."
