"World War Tank Girl" will bring to a close the storyline that's run through "Two Girls, One Tank" and the current "Tank Girl: Gold" series.

The anarchic Tank Girl debuted in the first issue of "Deadline" in 1988, the brainchild of Martin and co-creator and artist Jamie Hewlett. While Hewlett eventually left comics for the most part as a member of the music group the Gorillaz, Martin has continued to write Tank Girl's adventures over the years. The pair reunited in 2015 for "21st Century Tank Girl," a three-issue series that arrived twenty years after Hewlett had last drawn the character.
