This November, DC's original Superman returns to Earth as part of the Dark Crisis event.
At this time, CBR can exclusively reveal Superman: Kal-El Returns Special #1, which is slated to release in comic shops on Tuesday, Nov. 29. The previously-announced Dark Crisis tie-in special includes stories by Mark Waid, Sina Grace, Alex Segura and Marv Wolfman, with art by Max Raynor, Dean Haspiel, Jack Herbert and Clayton Henry. It features a main cover by Dan Mora, as well as variant covers by Travis Moore and Mario "Fox" Foccillo.

Earth Hasn't Been Without a Superman
Kal-El left Earth for Warworld nearly one whole year ago in September 2021's Action Comics #1035. In his father's absence, Jon Kent, formerly known as Superboy, has taken up the mantle of Superman, protecting Earth in the name of truth, justice and a better tomorrow. Jon's adventures as Earth's new Man of Steel have been chronicled in DC's Superman: Son of Kal-El, while Kal-El's exploits on Warworld have been explored within the pages of Action Comics.
Moore's variant cover for Superman: Kal-El Returns Special #1 fittingly sees the father and son embracing upon their long-awaited reunion. This reunion will be further explored in the "Kal-El Returns" crossover story arc, which will take place in Action Comics #1047-1049 and Superman: Son of Kal-El #16-18.
