Ryan Sook is definitely an in-demand cover artist -- he's on cover duty for upcoming DC Comics weekly series "The New 52: Futures End," among other noteworthy gigs -- and he's illustrated a variant cover for Image Comics' "The Adventures of Apocalypse Al" #1, out this week. CBR has the exclusive reveal of the image.

"The Adventures of Apocalypse Al" is the latest release from Image's Joe's Comics imprint, headed up by writer J. Michael Straczynski. The series, from Straczynski and artist Sid Kotian, is a four-issue miniseries starring private investigator Allison Carter, working to prevent the end of the world. Issue #1, with a main cover by Kotian, is out this Wednesday, Feb. 5.

"After doing three titles about demons, despair and death, more or less in that order, this is the first title from Joe's Comics that's about sheer, unadulterated fun," Straczynski is quoted in an Image Comics press release. "It's light-hearted and funny, its heart is in the right place, the action never stops, and it features a smart, strong hero who has a habit of saying exactly the wrong thing at exactly the right moment."
