Valiant Entertainment has given CBR an exclusive look at Psi-Lords #2, by writer Fred Van Lente and artist Renato Guedes.

Making their first full appearance in 1994's Rai and the Future Force #21, the Psi-Lords were introduced as a superhero team from the 41st century empowered by nanites, much like the publisher's flagship hero Bloodshot. However, Van Lente and Guedes' take on the team has been quite different. The new series follows a team of astronauts boasting incredible powers and, eventually, interacting with the wider Valiant Universe.

"Psi-Lords has been (accurately) described as an intergalactic prison break story," Van Lente told CBR. "Our prison, the Gyre, is the size of a planet and has all sorts of different factions and races on its surface — and, like any prison, it has gangs. In this scene from #2, our would-be escapees have come across a member of one of the more vicious gangs, the Widowers, and go all Seven Samurai on them."
