BERKELEY, CA -- 21 September, 2006 -- While movies have, for decades, employed "coming attractions" or "trailers" to announce themselves to the world, rarely have comic book creators had a video trailer hype their upcoming series - until now.
In conjunction with ComicBookResources.com, the creators of the new Image Comics title MELTDOWN will be debuting their new online video trailer, giving comic book fans worldwide a chance to get an animated sneak preview of the highly-anticipated series.
"I absolutely love it when comic creators find new and interesting ways to promote their books," says Jonah Weiland, Executive Producer of Comic Book Resources. "Using a trailer to promote a new book is a fun and innovative way to engage the fans and the trailer for MELTDOWN should get readers screaming for more, more, more!"
MELTDOWN tells the story of a reluctant super-hero whose own fire-based powers are killing him; melting him down from within. He's only got 7 days left to put his life in order, and to make amends for all of his regrets. The script is by David B. Schwartz, artwork is by Sean Wang (creator of the smash-hit indie comic "Runners"), colors by Guru-eFX, with covers by industry superstars Chris Bachalo and Greg Horn.

The MELTDOWN trailer launches on September 21, 2006, only on ComicBookResources.com, before branching out into other venues a week later.
MELTDOWN is a two issue prestige-format mini-series available for pre-ordering in the October Previews. Both issues of this full color series will retail for $5.99 and issue #1 is scheduled to be in-stores December 28th, 2006.
