"When the fine folks at Archie came to me with an opportunity to not just draw America’s most famous teenagers, but to work with Mark as well I jumped at the chance," Woods told CBR. "I’ve always wanted to work with Mark and he's on his A-Game here. The moment I read his first issue of Archie it became my favorite comic on the stands. Just great comics and I’m thrilled to be a part of it!"

Waid said, teasing his and Woods' first arc together, "Veronica's back in town--but she's not quite the "Ronnie" that Riverdale remembers. She and Archie are in a...complicated situation, and that means that potential suitors are falling all over themselves to woo her. Meanwhile, Betty's found herself a new beau, and I'd argue it's one of the least expected boys in town. And as if that weren't enough, Cheryl Blossom and her brother are trying to get to the bottom of a mystery that surrounds their family and cloaks it in shadow. We have a LOT of stuff coming up!"
