EXCLUSIVE: Paul Pope's Variant Cover for "Carver" #1

Z2 Comics plans to broaden its focus from graphic novels to periodicals this fall, and the second book in its line -- following Ian McGinty's "Welcome to Showside" -- is "Carver" by cartoonist Chris Hunt. CBR has the exclusive first look at superstar artist Paul Pope's variant cover for November's "Carver" #1.

The connection between Pope and Hunt extends far beyond this cover: in 2010, Hunt studied as a resident artist at The Atlantic Center for the Arts under Pope.

"I'm bringing a modern edge and sensibility to classic, serialized adventure storytelling, starting with the first storyline 'Carver: A Paris Story,'" Hunt said in a statement. In "Carver," titular protagonist Francis Carver travels the globe to find a kidnapper with the colorful name of Stacker Lee.

"Carver" is slated to debut in November from Z2 Comics.
