EXCLUSIVE: Mignola, Johnson & Sook Cover "Hellboy in Hell" & "B.P.R.D."

Courtesy of Dark Horse, CBR presents exclusive first looks at covers for December's "Hellboy" and "B.P.R.D." titles. Beyond that, Dark Horse also provided an exclusive sneak peek at "Hellboy in Hell" #1 featuring creator Mike Mignola's return to solo "Hellboy" storytelling as writer and artist.

Mignola previously told CBR pencilling the series is the most fun he's had since he first drew the character, and has plans to focus heavily on character in the future, without necessarily giving his character a defined purpose. "What I'm trying to do is take all these big things that have been attached to Hellboy -- all these 'purpose in life' ideas -- and I'm trying like hell to leave them aside and turn Hellboy into a much simpler character," Mignola said. "The first four issues, which are one story, kind of resolve a lot of stuff. Kind of. They set the stage for the stories to come after, which for the most part involve lots of one-issue stories or even single comics with two stories. So he doesn't have a specific purpose. He's just going to wander around Hell."

Check out the Mignola's cover and the first two pages of "Hellboy in Hell" #1, as well as Dave Johnson's cover for "B.P.R.D.: 1948" #3 and "B.P.R.D.: Hell on Earth - The Return of the Master" #5 by Ryan Sook.
