Given a reported production budget of $180 million, there are needless to say quite a few visual effects shots in Disney's Maleficent, released this past summer. In this clip from the special features of the film's home release, seen first on SPINOFF, the curtain's peeled back a bit on a few scenes to give viewers an idea of how things look before and after the movie magic happens.
A live-action, perspective-shifted re-telling of Disney classic Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent starred Angelina Jolie as the titular villain. With a cumulative total of $757.4 million, the movie currently stands as the No. 2 highest-grossing film of the year on the worldwide charts, behind Transformers: Age of Extinction (the only release to cross the billion mark thus far in 2014) and just ahead of Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy, also under the Disney corporate umbrella.
