Exclusive Loeb and Lee Batman pages on DC Web site

Official Press Release

For those who can't wait any longer to see the new take on the Dark Knight by Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee and Scott Williams, dccomics.com offers an exclusive 2-page recreation of the Dark Knight's origin.

To view this 2-page comic, go to http://www.dccomics.com/features/BatmanHush/ at the DC website. These pages are exclusive to the website and are not scheduled to appear in the monthly BATMAN title in the foreseeable future.

"There's been so much talk about what our BATMAN would be like, we thought we'd give fans a chance to see what we're up to before the first issue hits the stands," says Lee. "This is a faithful retelling of his origin, and we think it shows that we're going to stay true to Batman's roots while telling some really kick-ass stories."

"I think every artist wants to take a crack at retelling one of the greatest origins in comics - certainly one of the best known," says Loeb. "Jim and I have tried to bring out the emotion of the destruction of Bruce Wayne's childhood that eventually led to the creation of the Dark Knight. This is the real deal: Scott Williams' flawless inking, coupled with Alex Sinclair's shining colors, all topped off by Richard Starkings' sterling lettering. We hope everyone gets a chance to take a peek at this appetizer and will enjoy the first issue tomorrow. Spread the word - BATMAN is back on top and we intend to keep it there!"

BATMAN #608 (AUG020206) reaches stores on Wednesday, October 23.
