Marvel Comics has officially revealed a first look at artist Nic Klein's variant cover for Thor #1 -- which kicks off the God of Thunder's new ongoing title as we enter the year 2020. The title unites Klein and writer Donny Cates for a new generation of stories starring Marvel's Asgardians.

Released exclusively to CBR, Klein's Thor #1 variant stars none other than the fearsome Asgardian warrior Lady Sif. Sif is seen standing tall, planting her sword into the ground beneath her feet as her electric blue eyes peer at the reader and her cape flows in the wind. Moreover, she appears to be standing on Bifröst -- Asgard's iconic rainbow bridge.

Cates and Klein were revealed to be taking over Marvel's mainline Thor for a relaunch early this past October. They follow the creative team of writer Jason Aaron and artist Mike Del Mundo, the former of whom has helmed the eponymous character's adventures since 2012's Thor: God of Thunder.

Cates and Klein's Thor takes place after the events of the War of the Realms event series, with Thor succeeding his father Odin as King of Asgard. However, the peace the Ten Realms now enjoy following the months-long war is compromised when a new threat called "The Black Winter" emerges.
