The Justice League is ripped apart at its core between two different camps in an exclusive clip from the Injustice animated film, with Superman's dark, new agenda causing a superhero schism.

As the Man of Steel begins enforcing justice as he sees fit after killing the Joker to avenge the fallen Lois Lane and Metropolis, the Justice League decides if they want to fall in line behind his lead. While Wonder Woman defends Superman's actions as one that will actually bring lasting justice to the world, Batman warns his assembled teammates that the move may likely signal a slide into superhero totalitarianism.

While Wonder Woman stands firm behind Superman's new direction, Plastic Man protests that he needed multiple chances at redemption from his old criminal wells before he became a bonafide superhero. Disgusted by Wonder Woman's justifications, Aquaman, Shazam and Green Lantern all depart from the team rather than fall in line.

Injustice adapts the popular 2013 video game Injustice: Gods Among Us which saw Superman create a dictatorial regime to control humanity after the Joker murdered Lois and devastated much of Metropolis. The fighting game received a sequel in 2017 and a bestselling comic book series expanding its world, which the animated film draws much of its inspiration from. The animated Injustice film will have a presence at DC FanDome 2021 on Oct. 16, providing a deeper look at the movie ahead of its home video release.

Directed by Matt Peters, Injustice will be available in digital HD and Blu-ray/4K UHD on Oct. 19.
