EXCLUSIVE: IDW Celebrates Disneyland's 60th Anniversary with Variant Covers

Disneyland first opened on July 17, 1955, and if you're mathematically inclined, you may realize that means the 60th anniversary of the iconic Anaheim, CA theme park is coming up this summer. There are plenty of plans within the park to celebrate its "Diamond" anniversary, and IDW Publishing, the current North American comic book publisher of classic Disney characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, are getting in on the action -- in the form of three Disneyland 60th Diamond Anniversary Legacy Cover scheduled for release in June.

CBR has the exclusive first look at two of the three variant covers, "Uncle Scrooge" #3 and "Mickey Mouse" #1, both illustrated by IDW mainstay Derek Charm, and depicting characters at a party near the Sleeping Beauty Castle. "Donald Duck" #2 will also get a Disneyland Anniversary cover, but the image was not available at press time.

IDW's full June 2015 solicitations are expected to be released early Wednesday morning.
