BOOM! Studios has provided CBR with an exclusive first look at Delilah S. Dawson, Pius Bak, Serg Acuna, Richard Ortiz, Hyeonjin Kim and Rodrigo Lorenzo's upcoming Firefly: The Sting, a graphic novel centered on the women of Joss Whedon's titular universe.
CBR's exclusive first look at Firefly: The Sting, which you can see alongside a plot synopsis for the book, reveals the return of Saffron, who played a key role on the show. The summary and first look tease her making an offer to Zoë, Inara, Kaylee and river that will have them teaming up to pull off heist.
Saffron, the enigmatic rogue who captured the hearts of Firefly fans worldwide (as well as the heart of Captain Malcolm Reynolds!), returns to Serenity for the first time since the end of the show. But this time, she’s not here for Mal, instead making the women on the crew an offer they literally can’t refuse. When the greatest grifter in the ‘verse joins forces with Zoë, Inara, Kaylee, and River to pull off the greatest theft in the ‘verse, what could possibly go wrong?
Created by Joss Whedon, Firefly ran from 2002 until 2003 and followed the crew of the Serenity following a major civil war. Although the show only received one season, the story was continued in a 2005 movie titled Serenity and in various comics over the years.
