What if the slightest human touch resulted in a horribly painful death? Dynamite Entertainment will explore that very concept in a new series, and CBR has the exclusive first details. The comic is titled "The Great Divide," from "Grumpy Cat" writer Ben Fisher and "Smuggling Spirits" artist Adam Markiewicz, and is scheduled to debut in September. The publisher also unveiled a faux "public service announcement" teaser poster for the series, which will be included as advanced advertising in Diamond shipments.

The official description for the new series is as follows: "In the near future, humanity awakens to the horrifying reality that the faintest touch from another's skin results in agonizing death. The survivors isolate themselves, many driven mad by fragments of memories absorbed from the dead. But when a pair of thieves stumbles upon the means to save their species, they learn not everyone is eager to see the old world order restored..."

Describing the series, Fisher said in a statement, "'The Great Divide' is set in a desperate, dangerous world. But at the heart of the book are two people struggling with the same basic question we all have: how do we find real connection with each other?...That blend of high concept action and deeply personal motivation is fertile ground for storytelling, and Dynamite is the perfect platform for this series."

Each issue will also include unique bonus digital content. The first issue includes a download code for "Teowawki," a song written and performed by Fisher about a doomsday prepper on a first date.
