Last month, The Pokemon Company revealed several tie-in cards for the upcoming Detective Pikachu movie. However, there's one more card, and it will be available exclusively to those who attend the movie on its opening weekend.
The Pokemon Company released a look at the new card on its website, and a high-res version was later posted to Twitter by SerebiiNet. According to the card Detective Pikachu has 90 HP and two moves. Those moves are Coffee Break, which heals 30 damage done to the character, and Corkscrew Punch, which does 20 damage. The card shows Detective Pikachu drinking coffee in the Hi-Hat Cafe.
It's not clear at this time what theaters will be participating in this promotion. The cards will be available while supplies last.
There are rumors that a sequel to Detective Pikachu is already in development, despite the fact the film hasn't even released yet. There are also reports there are talks of a live-action movie based on Pokemon Red and Blue, the first games in the Western-version series. Pokemon began in Japan in 1996 with Pocket Monsters Red and Green and has since become the highest-grossing media franchise ever, with characters appearing in animated films, toys and, now, live-action movies.
Directed by Rob Letterman from a script written by Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, Detective Pikachu stars Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Ken Watanabe and the voice of Ryan Reynolds. The film opens in theaters on May 10.
