She already stars in her own animated series and was a featured guest star on "Arrow's" fourth season. Now, DC Comics' Vixen will see her profile raised even higher as one of the members of the upcoming "Justice League of America" series.

Vixen will make her debut as a member of the team in January, starring in the "Justice League of America: Vixen" one-shot. Steve Orlando and Jody Houser will co-write the issue, with Jamal Campbell illustrating. Ivan Reis, Joe Prado and Marcelo Maiolo will provide the issue's cover. Orlando is also writing the monthly "JLA" comic debuting in February.

The hero, who received her animal-based powers via a mystical totem worn around her neck, was created in 1978 by Gerry Conway and Bob Oksner, and was intended to be the first African female to star in her own comic. The series was canceled before the first issue was released, and the character made her official DC Universe debut in 1981's "Action Comics" #521.

For decades, Vixen bounced around the DCU as a member of various incarnations of the Justice League, the Suicide Squad and the super-secret spy organization Checkmate. In 2008, thirty years after she was originally intended to go solo, DC released a "Vixen" miniseries by G. Willow Wilson and CAFU.
