Over the past year, Loot Crate has established a history of releasing exclusive variant covers of comic book issues as part of its monthly geek culture merchandise subscription boxes. The exclusive issues typically have a major impact on the Diamond sales charts, as the company has a subscriber base of more than 300,000 according to its latest publicly released figures.

This month's theme is "Unite," and Loot Crate has united with BOOM! Studios for a "Bravest Warriors: Tales from the Holo John" variant, with a cover by artist Tyson Hesse, a veteran of BOOM's "Bravest Warriors" comics. CBR has the exclusive first look at the cover image.

The "Tales from the Holo John" one-shot was first announced in February, with a release date in comic shops of May 27. The 48-page anthology issue includes contributions from Paul Allor, Mad Rupert and John Omohundro, the voice of Danny on the "Bravest Warriors" animated series.

Loot Crate's first foray into comics was with a "Rocket Raccoon" #1 variant last June, propelling the Marvel series to the top of that month's Diamond sales chart. DC Comics, Image Comics and IDW Publishing have each partnered with Loot Crate for variants in the past, with the latter's "Orphan Black" #1 hitting No. 1 on the Diamond chart this past March due to the boost from the service.

Interested parties have until 9 p.m. Pacific on May 19 to order the box containing the "Bravest Warriors: Tales from the Holo John" variant.
