In the ongoing waves of publishing news hitting due to DC Comics September relaunch of its entire DC Universe line with 52 titles starting at #1, comic fans everywhere have been rooting for their favorite heroes to land their own monthly title. Readers have already learned about the cornerstone members of the new Justice League, the blockbuster lines of Green Lantern and Batman, the horror-themed Dark corners of the DCU, the teen-centric teams of the Titans and the Legion and their cult favorites from sci-fi to war to Westerns.
CBR News is happy to report exclusively that the next title from DC to officially hit the web will be "Blue Beetle" by Tony Bedard and Ig Guara. Below, check out the cover for issue #1 by Tyler Kirkham and Sal Regla, and read DC's official logline on the series that will return El Paso's teen hero to the stands.
It's not easy being Jaime Reyes. He has to deal with high school, family and all the drama that comes with being a teenager. Also, he's linked to a powerful scarab created by an alien race who seek to subjugate planets - or annihilate them. It's up to one teen hero to turn this instrument of destruction into a force for good in BLUE BEETLE #1, written by Tony Bedard (GREEN LANTERN CORPS) and illustrated by Ig Guara (FLASHPOINT: GRODD OF WAR) and Ruy Jose.
Stay tuned this week to CBR for more on the many DC Comics relaunch titles.
