After selling out of the debut issue's first printing and receiving positive reviews across the internet, Dark Horse Comics plans to maintain the momentum already built up by its new "Star Wars" ongoing title by Brian Wood and Carlos D'Anda. With the first issue now officially sold out and a second printing available for order from Diamond featuring the same cover without trade dress, one way the publisher plans to keep the buzz going on its newest hit series is by producing a special series of variant cover editions, featuring the penciled sketches cover artist Alex Ross used as the basis of his fully-painted versions. Each variant will be solicited for release once a month, covering issues #4-7.

CBR News has an exclusive first look at the sketch variants below, along with an early look at the official announcement.
