Writer Donny Cates and artists Ryan Stegman, JP Mayer and Frank Martin left Venom and Spider-Man in a precarious position at the end of Absolute Carnage #1, as the duo were cornered by Cletus Kasady/Carnage and his incredibly powerful entourage at the Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane while attempting to rescue Norman Osborn. Marvel Comics has now provided CBR with an exclusive look at Venom #17, which is an Absolute Carnage tie-in by Cates and artists Iban Coello and Rain Beredo, as well as Absolute Carnage #2.

The preview for Venom seems to pick up shortly before the end of Absolute Carnage #1, and shows the titular anti-hero and Spider-Man fighting off the symbiote-infected horde in the halls of Ravencroft. The solicitation for the issue teases Venom working to protect his son, Dylan, and appearances from more of New York's symbiotes. The preview for Absolute Carnage #2 shows just how the two will escape, with Venom pulling Spider-Man out of harm's way just in the nick of time. The solicitation for the issue claims they'll spend the issue assembling heroes to fight Carnage while the villain rampages through New York.
