In August, the solicitation for writer Tom Taylor and artist Pere Perez' Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #12 underwent a last minute change, with the new summary teasing the issue as having the title hero investigating his own death. Marvel Comics has now shared an exclusive preview of the issue, which might just shed some light on that mystery.

The preview opens with Peter Parker swinging to the rescue at a boat fire. He ignores his Spider-Sense going off, as the burning boat is a clear and present danger. However, when he gets to the crow's nest, he's blasted into the water by someone waiting to ambush him. The preview ends before revealing just what happens to Spider-Man.
