Evil Ernie Returns in September from Devil's Due & Chaos! Comics

Official Press Release

Chicago, IL -- June 14, 2005 -- This September, Chaos! Comics is resurrected in a fitting place: Devil's Due Publishing. Together, the publishing partners will bring back quite a few of the long-thought-dead characters and unleash them on the living world, starting with EVIL ERNIE. It all begins when Evil Ernie #1 debuts in September, in a 4-issue series. Other titles will join the fray shortly thereafter. Scripting the new Evil Ernie series will be industry veteran, Alan Grant, with art by Tommy Castillo.

"I'm very excited about the chance to help revive these characters," said Josh Blaylock, president of Devil's Due. "You're talking about Chaos! Comics, the place where darkness dwelled for nearly 10 years. These characters are classics and I'm proud to have them under the DDP banner."

"It's time for Chaos! to reign once again!" exulted Andy Eaton, President at Chaos! Comics. "Devil's Due is the perfect partner to join us in resurrecting Chaos! Comics. We're excited about the creative talent that's on board. Alan Grant is bringing a fresh take to Evil Ernie that will appeal to old fans and new readers. It's the most deranged behavior ever seen from Ernie, punctuated with black-as-coal comedy."

Like all Devil's Due titles, Evil Ernie is available from comic book shops everywhere. Each issue retails for $2.95, in standard 32-page comic book format.

Devil's Due. Reminding everyone that pop culture IS our culture.

Devil's Due Publishing was formed in 1999 as both a commercial art studio and a small press comic book publisher. DDP's first breakout success was 2001's revamp of G.I. JOE, returning the long-lost 1980s characters to comics. Fans bought over 100,000 copies per month, immediately propelling G.I. JOE to the top of the charts. Today, DDP's lineup includes Army of Darkness, Street Fighter, Hack/Slash and the Aftermath universe, a new imprint featuring super-powered heroes in titles like Defex, Breakdown, Blade of Kumori and Infantry.

Chaos! Comics was the leading horror comic book publisher of the 1990s. In 2005, Chaos! Comics is resurrected under new ownership. Chaos! Comics is dedicated to bringing the best in horror and supernatural stories to the comic book industry.
