The Young Avengers formed when the regular Avengers split up, teenagers who were self-proclaimed fanboys of the Avengers. However, it turned out their formation was a plan set in motion by a young version of Kang the Conqueror, so set out to stop himself from becoming evil.

While Captain America and Iron Man were against the team since they were children, they fought and proved themselves and ended up playing essential parts in significant battles, including Secret Invasion and Civil War. At the same time, they became one of the most significant representations of LGBTQ culture thanks mostly to the relationship of two of their most influential members, Hulkling and Wiccan. Here is every Young Avenger ever, ranked.

12 12. VISION

Vision from the Young Avengers uses his powers.

The Vision of the Young Avengers is not the Vision that has been a part of the Avengers for years. Instead, it is the body of that Vision with Iron Lad's Neurokinetic armor bringing it to life. Using the name Jonas, Vision was sidelined in the start since he not considered ready for battle -- plus Iron Man was worried about his powers.

Vision proved to be a good ally and even helped Captain America during the Civil War storyline. He also became a member of The Avengers for a while along with his girlfriend Stature. However, when it comes to his work as a member of the Young Avengers, he didn't do a lot and died when Iron Lad destroyed him after Stature's death.

11 11. PRODIGY

Every Young Avenger Ever, Ranked

Prodigy is a strange member of the Young Avengers, mostly because he is powerless. Unlike Hawkeye, who also has no powers, Prodigy is not worth much at all in battle situations. He was a mutant who lost his powers on M Day, but there was one good thing that he retained.

His mutant powers were learning everything that anyone he touched knows, so he is a master strategist and knows how to beat just about anyone in a fight -- even if he can't do it himself. He joined the team after he befriended Speed and was there during Speed's abduction, remaining with them until they finally solved the mystery of Speed's disappearance.

10 10. PATRIOT

Every Young Avenger Ever, Ranked

Patriot is a legacy superhero -- but he is also a liar and cheated his way onto the lineup of the Young Avengers. He is Eli Bradley and was the grandson of the original Super Soldier (the one before Captain America), Isaiah Bradley. However, he had no powers and took MGH to gain strength and pretended to be a super soldier.

He finally did get his powers when he took a bullet to save Captain America, and Isaiah gave him a blood transfusion to save his life. However, even when he could stop lying about his powers, he still made dumb mistakes, including attacking Scarlet Witch right before she could return all mutant's powers. He quit after that and gave up being a hero.

9 9. SPEED

Every Young Avenger Ever, Ranked

Speed showed up in the second half of the first Young Avengers run and then played a significant role in the second major Young Avengers storyline, The Children's Crusade. He was in a youth superhero prison, and the Young Avengers helped him escape to help them try to save Hulkling from the Kree and Skrulls.

However, the importance of Speed is that he is one of the reincarnated children Scarlet Witch and his powers are the same as Quicksilver's. He is also arrogant and very full of himself. At the end of Children's Crusade, the Young Avengers split up with Speed the only one who wanted to remain a hero. He drops on the list because, in Young Avengers Vol. 2, he was nothing more than a victim needing saving.

8 8. IRON LAD

Iron Lad in the Young Avengers

Iron Lad is the superhero who founded the Young Avengers. He is Nathaniel Richards, which Marvel fans know one day becomes Kang the Conquerer. He is the Earth-6311 version, and his entire goal in starting the Young Avengers was to prevent himself from ever becoming Kang.

The problem is that the timelines started to disrupt, and Iron Lad realized he had to leave or the world would fall to ruins. He went into the timestream and stayed there for a while. He came back in Children's Crusade, and when Stature died, he believed he could bring her back, but that is when his former friends realized he was finally turning into Kang.

7 7. STATURE

Every Young Avenger Ever, Ranked

Stature was a legacy member of the Young Avengers. While the original team did not include any females, Cassie Lang befriended Kate Bishop. Throughout her entire childhood, Cassie was stealing Pym particles and hoped they could help her become a hero -- which they did when she began to grow or shrink at will.

She joined the Young Avengers with Kate when they met the young heroes. Cassie developed a relationship with Iron Lad, and after he left, she ended up growing close to Vision. However, things went wrong when the Young Avengers battled Doctor Doom in Children's Crusade, and right after Stature helped bring her father Scott Lang back from the dead, Doom killed her.

6 6. KID LOKI

Every Young Avenger Ever, Ranked

Kid Loki could have ranked near the top of this list if his entire role as a member of the Young Avengers had not been a ruse as he betrayed the whole team. However, up until the twist where Kid Loki revealed that, at heart, it is still just Loki, he was entertaining, fun and one of the best characters in Young Avengers Vol. 2.

However, it also should be noted that while Loki killed his child self and tricked Wiccan into turning him into a young adult to give him his powers back, Loki did remain loyal to his new friends and helped them win in the end.

5 5. NOH-VARR

Before Young Avengers Vol. 2, Noh-Varr was a supervillain who worked with Norman Osborn in the Dark Avengers as Captain Marvel. He ended up becoming a hero when he gained new Bega-Bands and became The Protector. By the time Avengers Vs. X-Men ended, he was left stranded on his satellite base without his Nega-Bands.

He then showed up as a boyfriend of Hawkeye in Young Avengers Vol. 2 and demanded to be called Noh-Varr. He was a loyal member of the team and helped them as they battled the parasite known as Mother. However, as the series went on, he transformed from a charming almost innocent pretty boy into an insecure hero who ended up pushing Hawkeye away, and this resulted in him ending up alone by the end.

4 4. MS. AMERICA

Every Young Avenger Ever, Ranked

Ms. America took a little while to warm up as a member of the Young Avengers. Her first appearance had her just wanting to beat up Kid Loki and then she ended up as a reluctant team member. She as much time sarcastically insulting everyone as she did punching bad guys. There is also the problem of the fact she remained a mystery through the entire Young Avengers Vol. 2.

However, by the end, she seemed to warm up to everyone, and the volume revealed at least a little about her interest in the Young Avengers, and Wiccan in particular. She has some impressive powers and might be the strongest member of the team. While she fits into the same role as Patriot did in the original series as the member with the attitude problem, she is one teammate that is always ready for a good fight.

3 3. HAWKEYE

Every Young Avenger Ever, Ranked

When looking at Marvel as a whole, Kate Bishop might be the most notable member of the Young Avengers. However, when it comes to the team itself, she falls a bit short when it comes to her importance. She is one of the original founding members, and as the only one without any real powers (or MGH enhanced powers), that is even more impressive.

She also is the one who convinced Captain America they deserved to be heroes. Her training with Clint Barton, the original Hawkeye, in between Young Avengers Vol. 1 and Children's Crusade made her even more powerful. Sadly, she spent much of Vol. 2 dealing with her relationship with Noh-Varr and less being a team leader.

2 2. WICCAN

Every Young Avenger Ever, Ranked

Wiccan is the most powerful member of the Young Avengers, and it isn't even close. The twin to Speed, Wiccan is one of the reincarnated children of Scarlet Witch, and he has his mother's powers. Both Children's Crusade and the second volume of Young Avengers centers on his powers.

In Children's Crusade, it is Wiccan and Speed's desire to find their mother, Scarlet Witch, and prove she is not evil that carried the storyline. In volume 2 of their main comic book, Kid Loki attempted to stop Wiccan from becoming the Demiurge that caused him to create Mother and betray the team. Wiccan has the powers to one day become an omnipotent godlike being.

1 1. HULKLING

Every Young Avenger Ever, Ranked

If Wiccan is the most powerful member of the Young Avengers and Kate Bishop is their team leader, it is Hulkling that is the heart and soul of the team. Hulkling is Teddy Altman, although his real name is Prince Dorrek VIII -- the son of Mar-Vell and the Skrull Princess Anelle. As a half-Skrull/half-Kree, he is really, really powerful.

He is also the boyfriend of Billy -- Wiccan. Their relationship played an essential part in the second volume of Young Avengers and is a vital part of the team dynamic. As a shape-changer with a healing factor, Hulkling can hold his own in any fight, and his loyalty and compassion make him the best member of the Young Avengers team.
