As to be expected for a superhero-based universe, death and resurrection are common occurrences in the Arrowverse. While characters such as Oliver Queen have come back from the brink of death several times, one person in particular has become notorious for her brushes with death: Sara Lance. Let's break down each time Sara Lance has cheated death across two different shows in the Arrowverse.

The Queen's Gambit Sinks in Arrow Season 1

Sara's first supposed death actually takes place in the first ever installment of the Arrowverse, Arrow's "Pilot." The episode establishes that five years ago, Oliver was cheating on his girlfriend Laurel with Sara, her sister. Oliver and Sara even went on a vacation together aboard the Queen's Gambit, a ship owned by his father. Unbeknownst to anyone aboard, the yacht had been sabotaged by Malcolm Merlyn and the Ninth Circle.

The Queen's Gambit ends up sinking near Sydney, Australia. Sara is seemingly sucked out of the ship to her doom, while Oliver, his father and a crew member manage to get to a lifeboat. Oliver ends up on the mysterious island of Lian Yu, while Sara is found by Dr. Anthony Ivo and enlisted to work on his ship, the Amazo.

The Amazo Sinks in Arrow Season 2

After spending a year on the Amazo, Sara is reunited with Oliver when Ivo has him brought aboard. The two end up back on Lian Yu to hunt for Mirakuru, and Sara meets Shado and Slade Wilson. Unfortunately, Ivo ends up capturing Sara and Shado, holding them at gunpoint to force Oliver to hand over the Mirakuru. Ivo executes Shado, which proves to be a big mistake when Slade Wilson returns.

Driven insane by the Mirakuru, Slade kills Ivo and takes over the Amazo, holding Oliver and Sara as his hostages. In Arrow's Season 2 finale "Unthinkable," Oliver, Slade and Sara engage in a climactic battle that destroys the Amazo. During the fight, Sara is sucked out of the ship in a parallel to her death aboard the Queen's Gambit. Despite Oliver presuming her dead, Sara is found by the League of Assassins and trained to become the Canary.

Sara Lance Is Shot by Thea in Arrow Season 3

Sara reappears in Arrow's Season 3 premiere "The Calm," only to suddenly be killed by an unknown assailant at the end of the episode. Sara's assassination serves as a major driving mystery throughout the season, with the culprit eventually being revealed as a brainwashed Thea Queen. Without Sara having been murdered, Oliver would never have had to face Ra's al Ghul.

Of course, Sara ends up getting resurrected in Season 4 of Arrow with the help of John Constantine. After some further adventures in Star City, she makes the jump to Legends of Tomorrow, eventually becoming the captain of the Waverider's time-traveling team. Despite some close calls -- including a near-sacrifice in Legends' Season 1 finale -- Sara manages to evade death for several years.

Sara Lance Is Poisoned by Amelia Earhart in Legends of Tomorrow Season 6

Unfortunately, death eventually catches up to Sara in Legends of Tomorrow Season 6, as she is poisoned by an alien that has taken the form of Amelia Earhart. Rejecting Bishop's offer of a cure, Sara dies a slow and painful death. Bishop is not willing to accept this and creates a perfect clone of Sara, which eventually discovers the original Sara's body and escapes to take her place on the Legends' lineup.
