Fans gathered together again for Marvel Studios’ highly-anticipated return to San Diego Comic-Con in 2022. SDCC’s first in-person event in two years featured a few shocking announcements and revelations about the upcoming phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They will continue the storyline of The Multiverse Saga that began in Phase 4.

SDCC revealed that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and She-Hulk: Attorney-At-Law will close out Phase 4 of the MCU. Marvel Studios’ presentation in Hall H officially confirmed release dates for a few upcoming movies and series on Disney+. New series and movies were also officially confirmed, giving fans a lot to look forward to in Phase 5 and Phase 6 of the MCU.

15 Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania Will Kick Off Phase 5 In 2023

Fans got an early look at the characters from 2023’s Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania at this year’s SDCC. It was also revealed that the third entry in the franchise will hit theaters on February 17, 2023 to kick off Phase 5 of the MCU.

Quantumania will introduce Jonathan Majors as the new villain Kang the Conqueror. He already appeared in one of Kang's identities that he's used across time as He Who Remains on Loki. Kang will play a huge role in The Multiverse Saga, making it a must-see movie for some fans.

14 Nick Fury Will Star In Spring 2023’s Secret Invasion Series On Disney+

Fans have been patiently waiting for more information about the Secret Invasion comic adaptation. The Secret Invasion series will star Samuel L. Jackson as the MCU’s super-spy Nick Fury, who helped launch the shared universe.

The comic series explored the infiltration of the shape-changing Skrulls before the titular attack. The series could bring some of the deadliest Skrulls to the MCU. Spider-Man: Far From Home and WandaVision both set up the adaptation which is set to air on Disney+ in the spring of 2023.

13 Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 3 Hits Theaters On May 5, 2023

Marvel’s space heroes will be appearing in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and series like I Am Groot. However, the third entry in the live-action franchise will also be a part of the MCU’s fifth phase when it releases on May 5, 2023.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 will bring an end to James Gunn’s trilogy and some fan-favorite characters like Drax. It will also introduce new characters to the MCU like Adam Warlock and the recently confirmed High Evolutionary.

12 Echo Will Stream On Disney+ During The Summer Of 2023

Following Maya Lopez’s debut on Disney+ in the Hawkeye series, Alaqua Cox will return to reprise the titular role in the spinoff series. The Echo series will follow Maya Lopez on her journey to become a hero and possibly even an Avenger.

Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio were also confirmed to appear in the series as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, respectively. The series will begin airing in the summer of 2023, and will likely dive into Echo and Kingpin's relationship in the comics.

11 The Marvels Will Unite A Few Powerful Heroes On July 28, 2023

The sequel to Captain Marvel will bring together heroes from other Disney+ series in The Marvels. Nia DaCosta will direct the long-awaited sequel which will hit theaters on July 28, 2023. The first tease for the film came during the post-credit scene of Ms. Marvel on Disney+.

Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau/Spectrum and Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel will all appear in the upcoming sequel. The Marvels is sure to play a huge role in The Multiverse Saga while continuing the stories of the heroic characters.

10 The Second Season Of Loki Will Also Return In The Summer Of 2023

The long-awaited second season of Loki will be a part of Phase 5, which excited fans of the series. The first season kicked off events that would heavily impact The Multiverse Saga while taking one of the MCU’s most beloved characters in a new direction.

The second season of Loki will deal with the repercussions of Loki and Sylvie’s encounter with He Who Remains. Fans will finally be able to return to the Time Variance Authority with Loki when the second season streams on Disney+ in the summer of 2023.

9 The Blade Reboot Will Be Released In Theaters On November 3, 2023

Marvel Studios first announced a new Blade film set in the MCU back in 2019. Mahershala Ali will star as Blade and will be working alongside director Bassam Tariq to bring a new version of Marvel’s vampire hunter to the big screen.

Blade made his first cameo appearance in the post-credit scene of Eternals. Fans will get a chance to see which of Blade's best comic storylines will fit into The Multiverse Saga when the film hits theaters on November 3, 2023.

8 Ironheart Will Star In Her Own Fall 2023 Series After Wakanda Forever

Marvel Studios released the first trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at SDCC, giving fans their first look at the highly-anticipated sequel. Dominique Thorne appeared in the trailer of Wakanda Forever as Riri Willaims before her debut as the armored Ironheart.

Riri and her suit of armor will also appear in her own Ironheart series on Disney+ that will stream in the fall of 2023. Ironheart also revealed a new logo at SDCC that references her appearance in Wakanda Forever as well.

7 Agatha: Coven Of Chaos Is Slated For Disney+ In The Winter Of 2023

Following Kathryn Hahn’s standout performance as Agatha Harkness in WandaVision, it was announced the character would return in her own spinoff series. Marvel Studios revealed a new title and release date for the series at SDCC.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos will begin airing on Disney+ in the winter of 2023. Coven of Chaos gives fans an idea of what the series will explore given Agatha’s established connection to the Chaos Magic wielded by the Scarlet Witch.

6 Daredevil: Born Again Will Kick Off in The Spring of 2024 On Disney+

Charlie Cox reprised his role as Matt Murdock to make his official MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Daredevil will appear as a guest star on She-Hulk: Attorney-At-Law. However, SDCC's big reveal confirmed that he would also appear in a new series.

Daredevil: Born Again will air an 18-episode season on Disney+ in the spring of 2024. D’Onofrio will also return as Kingpin, which might give some fans an idea of where the series is headed. The Born Again subtitle references one of the best Daredevil storylines in the comics.

5 Captain America: New World Order Will Hit Theaters On May 3, 2024

Following the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series on Disney+, Marvel Studios announced a fourth film in the Captain America franchise. Anthony Mackie will return as Sam Wilson in his role as Captain America for the first time on the big screen.

The title for the next entry in the franchise is Captain America: New World Order, as revealed at SDCC. “New World Order” was also the first episode title of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It will hit theaters on May 3, 2024 as one of the final films of Phase 5.

4 Thunderbolts Will Introduce A New Team to The MCU On July 26, 2024

After months of rumors, Marvel Studios finally announced the live-action Thunderbolts movie at SDCC. The original Thunderbolts were a group of villains disguised as heroes led by Baron Zemo. They turned on Zemo and hoped to become real heroes.

The appearance of villains turned into anti-heroes like U.S. Agent and Yelena Belova had fans wondering if they would be forming together as a new team in the MCU. Thunderbolts will also introduce new MCU characters which could mean members of the original comic roster could appear as well.

3 Fantastic Four Will Kick Off Phase 6 When It Releases On November 8, 2024

A new Fantastic Four adaptation was first announced at Marvel Studio’s last appearance at SDCC in 2019. John Krasinski appeared as a multiversal Reed Richards in the Doctor Strange sequel that further teased the Fantastic Four's MCU debut.

Marvel Studios revealed a bit more about the upcoming reboot at SDCC 2022. Fantastic Four will be the first movie in Phase 6 of the MCU. No cast members have been officially announced, but it will release in theaters on November 8, 2024.

2 Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Launches A Two-Part Finale On May 2, 2025​​​

Marvel filed trademarks just before SDCC, which tipped some fans off about titles for new Avengers films. This revealed that the introduction of Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will impact the entirety of The Multiverse Saga.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be the first Avengers movie since Phase 3 of the MCU. In the comic storyline that shares the same name, Kang managed to take control of Earth after defeating the team. Fans are definitely in for an epic battle on May 2, 2025.

1 Avengers: Secret Wars Will End MCU’s Phase 6 On November 7, 2025

The Kang Dynasty is only the first of the two-part finale to Phase 6 of the MCU. There are likely to be other series and movies added to Phase 6 once projects develop further, but Avengers: Secret Wars is officially set up to end The Multiverse Saga.

Avengers: Secret Wars will head into theaters on November 7, 2025. The Secret Wars comic event from 2015 featured a series of reality incursions that destroyed the multiverse. Marvel variants of all kinds appeared as they attempted to restore the multiverse. There are a few ways that Secret Wars could play out in the MCU.
