Evan Peters will return as Quicksilver, one of the fastest mutants in Marvel Comics history, when X-Men: Dark Phoenix hits theaters late next year, according to a report from Hollywood Reporter. Peters first portrayed Quicksilver in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, and reprised the role in X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016.

The character has garnered popularity in the X-Men film franchise for the highly choreographed scenes that showcase his super-speed powers. In X-Men: Days of Future Past, Quicksilver saved Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) from certain death when he used his powers to take down a room full of armed guards and divert their bullets. In X-Men: Apocalypse, Quicksilver saved most students in Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters after an explosion was triggered at its core.
