The cast and crew of Marvel's Eternals reportedly had to be evacuated after a bomb was discovered on set.
According to the Daily Mail, the film was shooting a scene on a base on the Canary Island of Fuerteventura. Bomb disposal crews were immediately dispatched to disarm the device, which is believed to be a leftover armament from when the Nazis occupied the base. No one has been reported injured as of this writing.
Among the cast and crew reputably at the scene of the incident were Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden. Jolie is playing Thena, while Madden will portray Ikaris.
The production and main cast for Eternals were officially announced at Comic-Con International in San Diego, while principal photography began this past July. Details on the film are still under wraps, but it is expected to introduce the cosmic team to the MCU as a race created by the Celestials to protect the Earth from the Deviants.
Directed by Chloé Zhao with a screenplay by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, Eternals stars Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Gemma Chan as Sersi and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight. The film arrives in theaters on Nov 6, 2020.
