It appears Dan Stevens might have a secret role in Marvel Studios' Eternals movie.

Collider's Steve Weintraub brought the topic up during an interview with Stevens about his sci-fi film I'm Your Man. "What can you say, hypothetically, about any sort of role that you may or may not have in Eternals?" asked Weintraub, to which Stevens cryptically replied, "Kro comment."

Created by Jack Kirby, Kro first appeared in 1976's Eternals #1 and is often the leader of his fellow Deviants, the evil counterparts to the immortal alien race known as the Eternals. The final Eternals trailer shows a Deviant believed to be Kro using his tendril-like appendages to ensnare Thena (Angelia Jolie), an Eternal who can create weapons out of cosmic energy. And while Thena and Kro eventually became romantically involved in Marvel's comic books, it's unclear if the film adapts that element for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although some fans speculate this trailer moment is alluding to just that.

Assuming Stevens is, in fact, playing Kro and that's him in the trailer, it wouldn't be the first CGI role for the actor. Stevens famously portrayed the Beast in Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast remake, both before and after his transformation. He's also no stranger to the world of Marvel Comics adaptations, having played the mutant David Haller across all three seasons of Noah Hawley and Marvel Television's FX series Legion.

Directed by Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao, Eternals revolves around the titular superheroes, who have already spent thousands of years protecting Earth from the Deviants when they're faced with a new threat, "The Emergence," brought about by The Blip in the film's present-day. Zhao has assured the movie will not only address why the Eternals didn't stop Thanos in Infinity War but also "how complicated not interfering made them feel."

"We explore that. You’ll see that in the film," she added. "The Eternals were instructed not to interfere with any human conflict unless Deviants are involved. There’s a reason why that’s the case. And that was the instruction from the prime Celestial Arishem."

Eternals will open in theaters exclusively on Nov. 5, at which point fans should know for sure whether Stevens is in the movie and, if so, who he's playing.
