A series of new Eternals set photos offer a first look at Game of Thrones star Kit Harington in his debut Marvel Cinematic Universe role.Posted by the Evening Standard, the photos show Harington's Dane Whitman taking a stroll with Sersi, an Eternal played by Gemma Chan. They appear dressed in fairly modern clothing, indicating the scene is set within the last few decades. Based on an older character and concept created by Stan Lee and Joe Maneely in the '50s, the modern Black Knight, Dane Whitman, was created by Roy Thomas and George Tuska in 1967's Avengers #47. After inheriting the Ebony Blade, a cursed mystical sword, Whitman became the heroic Black Knight and joined the Avengers to restore honor to his family.

Eternals is due to explore thousands of years across time in the MCU. Indeed, a photo posted by star Lauren Ridloff in November indicated the film will go as far back as Babylon 800 BC -- and perhaps even further. As such, it's difficult to pinpoint just when these new photos take place, though the clothing suggests they are in the late 20th or early 21st century.

Directed by Chloé Zhao with a screenplay by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, Eternals stars Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Gemma Chan as Sersi and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 6.
